The DHCP/DNS server is a Windows Server, the VM Client is NOT issued an IP from this server, its manually configured for testing purpose. The VM client and DHCP/DNS server's gateway is the firewall port2 (LAN). WebApr 8, 2024 · 1. I solved the problem! It turns out the NAT device was improperly configured to use its own DHCP service rather than using the local DHCP service. Basically it was assigning a LAN IP address 169.254.72.176 to the virtual machine, while everything else was configured to expect that the virtual machine's IP address was fixed at 192.168.34.43.

At the server, look at IPCONFIG /ALL and see the IP address, subnet mask and default gateway. Also do the same on the VPN client for the VPN tunnel adapter.
