I tried a couple Marshall cabs (112 and 2x12) with it and it just sounded OK. I think I prefer just the combo cab and speaker. I was wondering if there is a cabinet that really brings out this amp.

Webb14 juni 2014 · If you want "tweed voicing" you don't want to swap cap or resistor values in the preamp. Instead, you need to ditch the blackface tone control circuit in favor of the simpler tweed tone control circuit. Copy the 5E3 Deluxe bright channel (which is the one with the tone control).

Leaving it in gives you more of a BF Fender voice and its footswitchable. Obviously, it adds gain as well when bypassing the tone stack but it is perfect for quickly revoicing the amp.
